Erick & Despina’s Multicultural Harbor Links Wedding

After we had gotten the chance to photograph their engagement session, we knew Erick and Despina's wedding would be one that we'd remember. Erick is Latin, Despina is Greek, and their families LOVE dancing. So it was no surprise to see how much fun this wedding was. There was so much music and dancing, and it was such a good feeling to be working with people who were just there to have fun and spread good vibes. Erick and Despina are truly gold, and it warmed our hearts to see how much they were loved and supported by their friends and family. From a Christian ceremony at the Archangel Michael Church to the fantastic reception party at the Harbor Links Golf Course - every moment at this multicultural wedding deserved to be documented.

Our couple's wedding was almost like an ode to New York City, a melting pot of cultures from all over the world. We started the day by taking photos of our bride and groom as they got ready with their bridal parties, including some detail shots of the elegant details of Despina's glamorous shoes. She looked gorgeous with her long wavy hair and lace bridal dress. On the other hand, Erick looked dapper in a blue suit and a light pink tie. It felt so wonderful to be around this couple again. Their energy is so positive, and they are such a breeze to work with.

Our couple didn't do a first look, but when Erick saw Despina walking down the aisle with her dad at the church, it was just as special as any other first look moment. His eyes lit up as Despina flashed her smile while walking towards him. It's a sweet moment that we look forward to at every wedding, so we are always ready to photograph it. The interiors at the church were incredible. Even though they were so bright and colorful, the spotlight and our focus remained on our lovely couple. There were loud cheers and applause from the guests as Erick and Despina kissed and walked out of the church as newlyweds. One of our favorite images from the wedding is this black and white shot where Erick and Despina are about to share a kiss in the back of their vintage wedding car. It's just so romantic and cinematic!

Once we reached the reception venue, it was time for more couple's portraits, and oh how we love photographing these two. Erick and Despina are so natural and hardly need any posing cues from us. Instead, they were themselves, and that's when the real magic happens. Like we said after their engagement session - the connection between these two is authentic and strong. We love photographing these lovebirds!

Once the portraits were done, it was time for our couple to make their way into the reception venue, and we are so glad we got a good angle on their terrific entry! They danced their way in and got the party started. And from then till the end of the night, the dancing and singing and music didn't stop. After the traditional first dances, our couple and their guests pulled out all their fancy moves on the dance floor, and we captured all that action. Everybody danced. Erick even danced with the bride's father in a traditional Greek dance. It was such a fantastic party with a mix of Latin and Greek music (and more dancing)! That energy was incomparable, and we love that somehow. We get to call that our workday.
