Pictures, like memories and stories, are a part of our legacy. And family portraits are proof of that bond and connection each family member shares with one another. When it comes to family portrait sessions, we aim to offer clients an experience that translates into happy memories and amazing family photos they can look back on any time they want. A time filled with love, laughter, and fun - that’s what we show through our family portraits. The Karnani family chose The Cloister at Sea Island in Georgia for their family portraits session. And even though The Cloister has an onsite photographer, Sheila liked our work and wanted to book us. Needless to say, we were super excited to offer Sheila and her family the experience they were seeking.
The Cloister At Sea Island Family Photo Session
We had the most amazing time meeting the Karnani family and taking their family portraits. This family of nine, including Sheila, her husband, their children, and their grandparents, came prepared with their best poses, and we were truly touched to see the bond all the individuals shared. They were all so perfectly in tune with each other, making it so easy for us to show that family bond in the photos. Watching the kids with the grandparents melted our hearts, to say the least.
With Forbes Five-Star accommodations tucked away on a private island, The Cloister is a spacious and iconic location with endless indoor and outdoor activities to wind down and have fun! We think that when kids are involved, being outdoors for the family portraits gives families the chance to really have fun together and see the most authentic representation of themselves in the photos. Also, with the kids running around and doing their own thing, the parents have to worry less about what the kids are up to.
The close-knit family was color-coordinated in different shades of blue, which was a brilliant idea and concept for a family photo shoot! Since we were in the middle of lush greenery, their color palette went perfectly with the surroundings. The Cloister at Sea Island has various spots that double up as great backdrops for photos, and the Karnanis were more than happy to hop from one spot to another. Some of the best photos were taken on this one swing suspended from a huge tree on the lawn. The swing was also popular among the youngest ones as well.
Another sweet memory from the family photo shoot is when we photographed the siblings as they sat by the stairs. Since we wanted to capture them genuinely bonding, we tried not to pose them too much. And at one point, as they looked into the camera and showed us their perfect smiles, one of the brothers decided to tickle his little sister, giving us the most precious moment to photograph! Their silliness made way for cute candids (including some fantastic jump shots) that sum up sibling relationships.
We also captured heart-warming moments between Sheila and her two youngest kids, who showered her with kisses and hugged her tight. They were so loving; we could see how the youngest ones were attached to their mom. The three elder sons posed with their father, and we captured some amazing father-son portraits!
From posing for formal family portraits to playing Rock, Paper, Scissor - one thing that remained constant throughout the photo shoot was the wonderful energy the Karnanis brought with them. There was not a single moment when the kids weren’t laughing or giggling or the parents weren’t smiling. They were truly such a happy bunch. And, of course, we couldn’t forget Sheila and her husband. So when we had all the shots we needed, we took a few portraits of the parents, who looked at each other with so much love.
