When we asked Erin and David about how they would describe their Faith Chapel Jekyll Island Wedding style, they responded, “whimsical, beach, flowers galore”. And from their invitation cards to their wedding décor (and timeline) - they followed it all to a T. Erin and David got married at the Faith Chapel in Jekyll Island in a sweet ceremony, which was attended by all of their loved ones. Both the bride and the groom have huge families, and it was such a pleasant experience to see how everyone had turned up to support and celebrate the couple on their wedding day. Filled with blooms and different shades of light mossy green, it was as if their wedding was a testament to spring.
Erin And David’s Faith Chapel Jekyll Island Wedding
The wedding day story is incomplete without the getting ready photos, so whenever time allows, we start with that. Erin chose an elegant lace gown that fit her like a glove. The bride looked like a vision and we really loved how she kept a big smile on her face throughout. We always aim to take photos that are a true representation of our clients, and the getting ready photos we took of Erin really show off her goofy personality. Super chill and laid back, Erin didn’t have a wedding photographer even when the wedding was three weeks away. But, we guess, in the end, everything worked out well and Erin, if you are reading this, we are happy you waited for so long!
The bride and groom didn’t have a first look. But David’s reaction to seeing Erin walk down the aisle at the chapel was worth a picture. He was beaming from ear to ear! We are big fans of the first look moment - whether it’s especially staged or when it happens as the bride approaches the altar. These moments always give way to raw emotional reactions that are significant for the wedding day story and also for the wedding album! After the wedding ceremony, when everyone had left the chapel, we pulled aside the newlyweds and did a mini photo shoot inside the chapel. The lighting was great and the interiors made for great backdrops for the couples portraits so we couldn’t resist! After some family, wedding party photos and some more outdoor couples portraits, it was time to head to the party!
After reaching the location, what we instantly noticed was the incredibly good-looking cake! We’ve seen plenty of amazing cakes in our wedding photography careers, and Erin and David’s wedding cake definitely deserved a spot on that list. Aligning with their theme, the cake too had vibrantly colored flowers. Seriously, we couldn’t get over it. After the traditional dances, cake cutting, and the garter and bouquet tosses, Erin and David made their way out during a gorgeous golden hour. The icing on the cake was their wedding car - a red-colored Falcon. The car was so chic and classy, and it was the perfect addition to their send-off.
However, this wasn’t the end. After the send-off, we drove to a beach nearby for some sunset wedding photos and we were so glad we could make it in time because the colors looked so dreamy and whimsical and perfect - exactly how our couple wanted.
