Located off the coast of Georgia in Glynn County, Jekyll Island is one dreamy destination for celebrations. We’ve been photographing our couples here for a long time now and, to be honest, the island never failed to impress us with its natural beauty and rich history. From wide open beaches and sports activities to exhibits and adventure opportunities, the island always has had something unique to present and draw our attention. So, when Sarah and Seth chose this exquisite location as their wedding destination, we were beyond excited. Their ceremony and first look took place at Faith Chapel and Villa Ospo, and what a fantastic celebration it was! Oh! The serenity, peace, and refreshing vibes at these venues were unmatched. The greenery and natural lighting were just the perfect additions to the images we created for them, and the aesthetically done indoors doubled up as equally outstanding backdrops. We enjoyed creating all the portraits of our couple and their guests and got pictures that were nothing short of spectacular!
Sarah And Seth’s Story
Sarah and Seth have exciting jobs in the Marietta area and are full of beans to start their lives together around Atlanta. They had first met in undergrad industrial design school at Georgia Tech and started dating by the end of their fall sophomore term. Their engagement took place on St. Andrews Beach at Jekyll Island, and since both of their families have fond memories of the Golden Isles, they were looking forward to their wedding to create a wonderful shared memory on Jekyll as well. Sarah and Seth, we’re sure your beautiful big day did just that for them!
Jekyll Island Wedding Photography
These two confident individuals totally knew what they wanted their wedding day to look like. They were looking for a natural but artistic perspective in their wedding photos and wanted their photographers to have a fair amount of knowledge of the areas (Villa Ospo) they were exploring. And bingo! We fitted their checkboxes on both fronts. Our ability to capture those natural and candid moments drew Sarah and Seth to our work. So, when it was time, we kept it all in mind while creating their portraits and gave our best to provide them with a superlative experience and photos possible. And Jekyll Island, which features so many impressive and imposing buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, helped us create that magic!
The wedding venue, Villa Ospo, an Italian Renaissance revival mansion on the island, had the romanticism of classical architecture interwoven with lush gardens tailor-made for picture-perfect wedding images. The excellent landscaping and fine woodwork of the interiors added to the charm of the pictures. We’d say that the venue easily transported the guests to another era and allowed them to soak in the ambiance. And, of course, the stunning surroundings did wonders to the images we took!
From taking solo portraits of Sarah and Seth to photographing them together, it was such a wonderful experience for us. We took their pictures as they got ready for their big day and also visually documented their well-thought-out and beautifully designed wedding details. The bridesmaids looked so pretty in bright mustard gowns, and we loved how Seth matched the color of his bow tie with them to give the pictures a more attractive and cohesive look. Seth, however, matched his tuxedo with that of the groomsmen, and together, they made a fun gang. The photos we took of them turned out to be so amazing! The family formals were great, and the party pictures we created at the time of the reception were proof enough of the fun that this celebration was. Besides all the peppy pictures, we also got the opportunity to capture some beautiful and emotional moments, such as our bride’s first look for her bridesmaids, her first look for Seth, and her walk down the aisle. The natural expressions and lovely reactions made for some sweet wedding pictures.
The wedding activities were fun, the toasts heartwarming, and the love and support that our couple got from their family and friends was an honor to witness. Although there wasn’t a dull moment at this wedding, and we loved capturing every bit of it onto our camera, there were a few moments that easily made their way to our list of favorites. One of those moments was creating the romantic portraits of our couple against the stunning moss trees and verdant greenery at Jekyll Island, while the other one was capturing a dancing group under the sparkling chandeliers in Villa Ospo. Also, we really liked how Sarah chose to wear a denim jacket with Mrs. Cruver embroidered on it over her bridal gown to keep herself warm as well as celebrate this new phase of her life in style. Speaking of style, the line-up and cheering from guests with illuminated ribbon wands in their hands made for a great idea and a perfect moment for stellar wedding pictures. Oh! What a great day it was and how much we enjoyed it. We had so much fun and hope that our couple, Sarah and Seth, loves their wedding photos as much as we enjoyed creating them.
